Calypso Bay is a canal living development located in Jacobs Well QLD, delivered by JK Williams QLD Team. This project saw the delivery of 233 Residential lots and 3 key sites for Stage 2J-S, 19 lots for Stage KS1 and 18 lots for Stage 7B.
Delivering this project required working with sand as the foundation for the development, consideration to preloading the sand with 62,000 cu.m of fill to promote dewatering of the embankments, on top of the sands workability, tidal patterns, water ingress and dewatering, along with the overall structural integrity when profiling excavation faces was a key challenge. This project also saw the reconstruction of stormwater outlets in live water ways requiring sheet piling as a means of holding back the water in high and low tides. There was a significant focus on the construction of 71 Bio Basins situated along the roadway as a means of filtering runoff within the confines of the land formation.
