Key Features

Calypso Bay project is a canal living development in Jacobs Well, QLD

Delivered by the JK Williams QLD Team, Calypso Bay features 233 residential lots and three significant sites for Stage 2J-S, alongside 19 lots for Stage KS1 and 18 lots for Stage 7B.

Executing this project involved working with sand as the foundational material. Key challenges included preloading the sand with 62,000 cubic meters of fill to facilitate dewatering of the embankments. Additionally, considerations such as the sand’s workability, tidal patterns, water ingress, and the structural integrity of excavated faces were crucial. The project also included the reconstruction of stormwater outlets in active waterways, necessitating sheet piling to manage water levels during high and low tides. A strong emphasis was placed on constructing 71 bio basins along the roadway to effectively filter runoff within the land formation.
