Challenge

The Mt Ousley Heavy Vehicle Rest Area is located on the M1 Princes Motorway and involved working within close proximity to active carriage ways.

The location of the rest area posed numerous challenges, installing remote sewer, water, communications and power. Due to this project being on a motorway there was over 2 months of nightworks carried out to complete the works safely.

To accelerate the works program the concrete paving machine was used for multiple pavement types, by accelerating the program we were able to reduce the amount of time we were interfacing with the traffic.
